The Book of Ruth: A Reader’s Theater Script (Thanksgiving Edition)

This script invites your family into the story of Ruth. The book of Ruth is a 4-act story that begins with great loss and then highlights God’s faithfulness to provide, both to and through His people. Harvest (or lack of harvest) sets the stage for most of Ruth, but the provision of food is paired with how God partners with people for continued life-giving provisions: His wisdom + our faithfulness = restoration and blessing.

The Thanksgiving Edition of this script features includes narration that connects our modern traditions with the ancient tradition of acknowledging God’s provision and faithfulness.
